Alamo Square: Most famous for Postcard Row, the beautiful views of Alamo Square Park, the row of Victorian Homes and the city skyline in the background. Some of the older Victorians in this area are very large, some of the largest multiunit buildings in the city. Its within walking distance to Hayes Valley and the newly redeveloped Divisadero Street.
Anza Vista: Anza Vista is a quite and secluded area in the middle of the city. Mostly mid century homes and multiunit buildings and condos, some of which have very nice downtown views.
Hayes Valley: Hayes Valley has changed drastically over the last few years, mostly due to the removal of the inland freeway project which was replaces by tree lined thoroughfare of Octavia Street as the main run up and exit to the 101FWY. The downtown Hayes Valley neighborhood boasts fun shopping in boutiques, great restaurants and a lively atmosphere.
Lower Pacific Heights: This is a slim sub-district sitting just below Pacific Heights, it is divided by Bush and Pine St, both one way streets that cut through the city. The main shopping area is on Fillmore Street, which offers world famous music concert hall, fabulous restaurants and great shopping. One of the best destination shopping street in the city.
North Panhandle: NOPA as referred to by locals, this area is filled with Victorians and some newer buildings. It’s close to the Panhandle Park that leads directly into the Golden Gate Park, a favorite for running, biking and just walking your dog.
Western Addition: Western addition is a neighborhood in transition. It is close to the lower part of Fillmore Street and south of Geary St. This area is divided by Webster St. and offers some very affordable housing options.
